Trump says Iran war "close to over" amid hopes for more negotiations
Snail, Inc. (SNAL) announced that its medieval survival game Bellwright has sold more than 1 million units on Steam during its Early Access phase. The milestone comes ahead of the game’s planned full 1.0 launch and expansion to Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
Bellwright combines survival mechanics with town-building systems and strategic combat in a medieval setting. The game has maintained consistent content updates since entering Early Access on Steam.
Snail previously acquired Donkey Crew, the Polish independent development studio that created Bellwright, bringing the game’s development in-house. The acquisition was part of the company’s strategy to align creative vision and operational execution for the title.
"We’re incredibly grateful to the players who believed in Bellwright early and helped shape it into what it is today," said Florian Hofreither, Creative Director and Project Lead from Donkey Crew. "The community’s feedback, passion, and patience throughout development have been instrumental in reaching this milestone."
The company plans to expand Bellwright beyond PC gaming through console ports to Xbox and PlayStation platforms. Snail Games develops and publishes interactive digital entertainment across multiple platforms including consoles, PCs, and mobile devices.
Hofreither will be available for interviews at GDC 2026 from March 9-13 at booth 1238, according to the company’s announcement.
